September

A maiden born when September leaves
Are rustling in September's breeze,
A sapphire on her brow should bind
`Twill cure diseases of the mind.

September birthdays are blessed with two vibrant blue birthstones.  The traditional stone is sapphire, the exquisite deep blue is reminiscent of the ocean and promises serenity and wisdom to those who wear it.  In the modern list, September is assigned lapis lazuli, another rich, blue stone, but thanks to its gold flecks it is quite distinct from the sapphire.
