A rare mineral, named for the Chara river in Russia. Said to be the stone of courage as the purple color (ranging from lilac to deep violet) corresponds to the sixth chakra. There remain no legends surrounding this stone to date, as this is a fairly new stone, having been described in 1978, found in 1947, in the only area in the world where it is mined, in the Siberian mountain region.
